Sidetrax is a record shop for music that does not exist, run by Sidetrax. Using the site means these terms apply. They are short, because so is the site.
None of the artists are real
Every artist, label, release and sleeve note here was invented, and the recordings were generated with AI. The biographies, the interviews, the pressing histories and the dates are fiction, presented straight because that is the point of it. Nothing on this site is a statement of fact about any real person, band, label or record, and any resemblance to one is not intended. What is Sidetrax? says more about how it is made.
You can listen; you are not buying anything
Playing is free and needs no account. Nothing here is sold, and nothing is downloadable — a library on this site is a record of what you kept, not a collection you own. Audio is served through links that expire, and working around that to download, rehost, scrape or redistribute the catalogue is not allowed.
The merch is real, and Fourthwall sells it
The racks show real products, but no order can be placed anywhere on this site. Every tile leads to our store on Fourthwall, and that is where the buying happens: Fourthwall is the seller — it takes the payment, makes and ships the goods, and its own terms and privacy policy govern the order. Nothing about a purchase, from the order to the delivery address, passes through this site or is visible to it. A problem with an order is a matter for Fourthwall; the band on the shirt not existing is covered above.
Your account
You need a confirmed email address you actually hold, and you are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. One person, one account. We can suspend or remove an account that is used to attack the site, to abuse other people, or to take the catalogue.
What we ask you not to do
Do not scrape, mirror or bulk-download the site; do not try to break the audio gate or reach anything you have not been given; do not automate play counts, which are the one honest number here and are worth nothing if they are invented; and do not use anything from this site to pass fiction off as a real artist's work.
Who owns what
The site, its design, the artwork and the written material are ours. The recordings are AI-generated, and the law on whether AI output can be owned at all is unsettled in most places — we are not going to claim more than that. What we do ask is straightforward: do not present this music as something a real musician made, and do not republish the catalogue as your own. If you would like to license something here — a sleeve, a song, a piece of the written material — write to [email protected] and ask.
No promises about uptime
This is a personal project. It is offered as it is, without warranty, and it may break, change shape, lose a feature or go away. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using it or from not being able to.
Changes, and the law that applies
These terms may change; the current version is always the one on this page. They are governed by the law of Japan, and its courts are the ones that hear any dispute about them.
