This record is a fiction. The songs were generated with AI; the artist, the label and the words were invented. What is Sidetrax?
Sleeve notes
A residual phase is the interval in which a system has stopped receiving an input but continues to behave as though it has. Iria’s second album begins there—not at the dramatic end of a love, but in the quieter technical problem of why the body, room and music have not accepted it.
Across eleven tracks, detail is gradually lost while presence becomes harder to deny. Kisses decay by half-life. Feelings survive compression. Choruses destabilize; frames skip; a signal appears to clear and still leaves something behind. Piano remains the physical witness, with pedal, felt and key return intact. Around it, electronics repeat imperfectly, turning error into a measure of attachment.
Released on the same day as Artifacts of Affection, Residual Phase is neither a sequel nor a set of outtakes. It is the cool exposure of the same image. The first album asks what affection made. This one listens for what it could not remove.
Written, performed and produced by Iria. Released by Third Rail as TR-008.
