Summer Nights follows the bright public crushes of Suddenly Summer into quieter rooms: a cherry mark left on purpose, a voice note meant for headphones, chlorine after everybody else has gone home, a hotel door that refuses to cooperate, and one supposedly temporary guest still making coffee on Monday. The jokes remain, but so does the nerve required to say exactly what happens next.

The music keeps Simone’s hard, melodic electro-synthpop intact—dry drums, elastic bass, bright hooks and harmony that refuses the obvious landing—then brings the voice closer and gives the shadows more room. This is not a second personality or a costume change. As the final song insists, nothing changes but the light.
